WHAT IS A SPEECH & LANGUAGE SCREENING?
Speech and Language Screenings are designed to identify preschool and school-aged children who may be experiencing difficulty and/or delays in the development of articulation skills (production of speech sounds), receptive language skills (comprehension of spoken language), and expressive language skills (use of words to express themselves). The results of the screening help to determine if further evaluation is necessary. The screening is administered individually and takes less than 15 minutes to complete. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SPEECH AND LANGUAGE SCREENING?
Children with speech and language delays are at a greater risk for learning disabilities, reading and writing difficulties, and overall academic challenges. A speech and language screening allows for early identification of developmental difficulties, offers parents an opportunity to explore their child’s communication through an objective measure, confirms/validates parent concerns regarding suspected delays, and/or provides parents with the peace of mind that their child’s speech and language development is progressing as expected. It also offers a pathway to intervention, if needed.
ENROLLMENT AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS
If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, pre-registration for the screening is required and can be done by filling out the attached registration form. Cost of screening is $45.00 with payment due by Wednesday October 1.2025. The office will be collecting all payments and registration forms.
