Parenting Class  
Parents Creating Change is an opportunity to discuss topics of interest. This program is offered at no cost. Classes will be held in Spanish. Parents are highly encouraged to attend all 10 classes, topics will cover setting boundaries, communication, time management, anger management, self-control, identifying anxiety and depression, self-esteem, self-care and an overview of domestic violence and the effects on children. Upon completing the program, parents will receive a certificate of completion.

Teen Parent Support Group   
Fristers, a nonprofit agency dedicated to helping teen parents build healthy and stable lives and families, is excited to launch a Teen Parent Couples Support Group in the City of Anaheim. Dinner and childcare will be provided

Developmental Screening   
Children will be screened by qualified therapists in fine & gross motor development, speech & language, behavioral/emotional health, hearing, vision, dental and their physical health. Free for all children ages 0-5.5 years old.
*There will be a packet to fill out. Please be aware that this process may take up to 1.5-2 hours to complete. If possible please bring your child's pediatrician contact information.

Parenting Class Just for Fathers  
This 6 week class will focus on topics such as, communication, effective discipline techniques, father as role models, time and money management, how to resolve conflict, and family values.
This series will be taught in Spanish. Please arrive no later than 5:30 p.m. the first day of class to complete a registration form.

Parent-Child Premium COPE Program  
A 9-week series utilizing an evidence-based curriculum helping parents learn techniques to increase positive parent-child interactions and tools for responding to common attention seeking behaviors. This series will focus on the behavioral and developmental needs of children 3-6 years old.
This series is offering a social skills component for children ages 3-6 years old. Children will be learning socially appropriate behaviors, managing and expressing their emotions, cooperating with other children, and positive listening skills.

Fundraiser for La Habra Action Council 
La Loteria Night Fundraiser
September 28, 2018
Hosted by the FRC's La Habra Action Council (LAC), a resident leadership group that is focused on making La Habra a healthy community to live in! Proceeds go directly to the LAC group to continue their efforts for the La Habra community! Tickets are $1.00 each: Combo Plate $6, Loteria games $1.00 per game! We will have raffles, prizes, and entertainment!

Youth Leadership Conference   
Youth are invited to experience a day of self-discovery, friendship, cultural exchange, leadership building, inspiration, and service. Participants will attend a series of intensive workshops designed to educate and empower future leaders.  
Additionally, each youth who attends will receive 6 hours of community service. Free for middle- and high-schoolers.

Parenting for a Peaceful Community: Nonviolent Parenting 6-Week Series  
This 6-week series of 2.5 hour classes, beginning Sunday October 14, teaches parents a new paradigm for raising kids, through connection, compassion, and self-regulation. Using role-play, meaningful interaction, and guided self-reflection, parents develop tools and learn how to implement effective strategies to help them raise empathetic and capable children while honoring their own journey of parenthood. As parents, we have a unique opportunity to empower our children with life skills for connecting with others, resolving conflicts, and contributing to peace in our world. Scholarships and Payment Plans Available for this event

Understanding Your Child's Behavior
Does your child have challenging behaviors that interferes with important family activities? Do you wish you can play with your child without worry about tantrums and other behaviors? Do you wish you can go to a restaurant and enjoy dinner as a family? If so, this workshop is for you!
We will discuss how to view behaviors as a form of communication, what your child is trying to tell you through behaviors, and introduce effective strategies to meet your child's needs so he/she can feel safe, happy, and supported!
This workshop will be presented by Daiz Wang, BCBA, with over 18 years of experience working with families and children. She has presented in national and international academic conferences on related topics.
