"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7
Principal's Corner
Who Do You Think You Are?
. God’s beloved child
. Christ’s dear friend
1 Corinthians 15.20-22 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
Our identity IN CHRIST is what grounds us. For if we are united to Christ, we share…
…in His death (we were baptized in His death)
…in His resurrection (we are resurrected with Christ)
…in His ascension (we have been raised with Him)
…in His heavenly home
…in His promised return.
IN CHRIST, each of us is special, unique, and loved in a way that the world does not understand. April monthly tip #1 – continually THINK these truths with ‘I am…’ statements’; tip #2 – prayerfully HEAR Jesus personalize these truths to you ‘Paul, you are…’; tip #3 – imaginatively ENVISION yourself embodying these truths in your daily life. Below ‘OUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST’ is something I hope you will use, share, and use daily during April and going forward. We all need to THINK, HEAR, and ENVISION this for us, and do our children.

FAITH FAMILIES
During the year Faith Families meet about once a month for activities that promote fellowship across grade levels, leadership by upper grade level students, and a deeper understanding of what it means to put our faith into practice by all students. Each Faith Family consists of at least one student from every grade level and one faculty member. Students remain in their same Faith Family throughout the duration of the school year. Monthly lessons and activities are provided by our ASB and are centered around monthly CCQs, philanthropies and SEL topics. Examples of Faith Family activities include small group discussions, team building, art projects, and athletic events. In addition to monthly Faith Family meetings, we sit together in Pep Rallies and participate together in our annual Field Day.
Be sure to ask your child to share their faith family activities!

March Staff Wellness-Prayer Box
This month we recognize the sacred season of Lent. It is a great time to celebrate spring by growing deeper in our Christian life through prayer to our Heavenly Father! For this month’s staff wellness focus, we encouraged everyone to practice mindful prayer. We set up a prayer box with Bible verses and opportunities to write a prayer for staff.
Martin Luther—On Prayer
“Pray—and let God worry.” – Martin Luther
“To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” Martin Luther
"The less I pray, the harder it gets; the more I pray, the better it goes." Martin Luther
“We must be careful not to break the habit of true prayer and … become lax and lazy, cool and listless toward prayer. The devil who besets us is not lazy or careless, and our flesh is too ready and eager to sin and is disinclined to the spirit of prayer.” - Martin Luther –From A Simple Way to Pray.
“Therefore from youth on we should form the habit of praying daily for our needs, whenever we are aware of anything that affects us or other people around us, such as preachers, magistrates, neighbors, and servants; and, as I have said, we should always remind God of his commandment and promise.…This I say because I would like to see people learn to pray properly…” Martin Luther. Luther’s Large Catechism, 1529

RED HILL LUTHERAN CHURCH NEWS
Pastor's Corner
Dear Red Hill Lutheran School Families,
I hope you had a blessed Holy Week and Eater! Just like Christmas, Easter in the church is not just a one-day celebration! Easter is celebrated every Sunday as we gather in the name of our resurrected Lord and Savior! As Saint Paul reminds us: “But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15.13-14)
Beginning on Sunday, April 7th, we begin a new message series entitled, “Who Do You Think You Are?” The Book of Ephesians. “Who do you think you are?” sounds like a rather startling or even rude question? Yet, answering this question makes all the difference in the world! Knowing who we are, our identity, determines how we act, the decisions we make, who we relate to, and even how we view God! Our identity shapes our worldview and how we fit into the larger scheme of things in this world. Of course, the Bible has a lot to say about who we are; our identity as God’s people—The Book of Ephesians particularly!
Through this series, we will examine the nature and purpose of the Book of Ephesians, exploring the themes and foundational truths that empower disciples of Jesus to live in the new reality of God’s kingdom come, as well as our identity as children of God who are in Christ! You are welcome to join us as we explore…
“I Am in Christ.”
“I Am Blessed.”
“I Am Loved.”
“I Am Victorious!”
As always, if there is anything we can be praying for, or if we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to call upon us!
Until I see you, may you have a wonderful and healthy April! Thanks for being a part of our Red Hill family!
Gratefully in Christ,
Pastor Seth
RHLC, YOUTH & FAMILY MINISTRY
Hi Red Hill Families:
What a blessed Holy Week we had with our Red Hill community! It all began with our Palm Sunday worship service and 3rd Annual Springfest Family Celebration. Starting the day with amazing worship, then enjoying a yummy pancake breakfast and moving on to photos with the Easter Bunny, fun egg hunts, petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, cotton candy, and popcorn, it was so great to see our Red Hill community come together in worship, service, and fellowship. Later in the week, we worshipped as a family on Maundy Thursday partaking in God’s “feast of forgiveness” instituted in the Lord’s Supper, all that Jesus suffered, ultimately leading to his death on the cross to pay for our sins on Good Friday, and finally on to Easter Sunday, the day He rose from the dead proving his victory over sin, death and the power of the devil. Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again!
It is a privilege to accompany you and your family on your spiritual journeys. Red Hill's Youth and Family Ministry (YFM) Team is devoted to the whole family throughout all the phases. We take a personal approach to ministry spanning a family's ages and stages. Each area partners dedicated staff, invested and trained small group leaders, and loving, supportive parents to leverage relationships for the sake of deep faith in the lives of our children and students. Our community purposefully seeks to walk with families as they raise godly and incredible kids. Our specific ministry areas share timely encouragement and program information.
We invite you to join us as we continue to worship, study and live in community with one another.
For more information about programming or resources, please contact our YFM Team.

K.I.D.S. Ministry April Teaching Series – “Throw Back”
A Teaching Series from the Gospels on Jesus’ Teachings
Our April Teaching Series, “Throw Back” begins Sunday, April 7th. From retro toys to fashion trends, we all love a good throwback. (Especially for grown-ups because it reminds us of being young again.) There are things that remind us of a moment in time, but other things feel timeless and like they’re always in style. In this teaching series, kids will travel through the decades and see that the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels are always trending. As we hear from Jesus, we’ll see it’s always good to be humble, we can always forgive, Jesus is always fair, and love always needs action. We look forward to all of the kids joining us during our Sunday morning DiscpleU Educational Hour, 9:15am-10:00am. (Check-In Begins at 9:00am)

Middle School Student Ministry
Middle School Ministry meets Wednesday nights, 6:00-7:30 pm in Peter's Parish. Join us for fun, games, dinner, and then spend time with us in God's Word. Contact Student Ministry Coordinator Tim Rivera at trivera@redhillschool.org with any questions.
All middle school and high school students are invited to join us Sunday Mornings for our DiscipleU Educational Hour, 9:15am-10:00am, in Peter’s Parish. We will spend time in community and God’s Word, discover our individual gifts and talents, and share our stories. Our study is “All about Jesus”: Who is He? and Why does He matter? This study gives students an opportunity to take an in-depth look at the life of Jesus. We will discover who He is, what He did during his earthly ministry, unpack the truths He taught, and explore how they can share the message of Jesus.
Mid-Week Student Ministry Teaching Series for April, “Enough” | 4-Week Series on Family
Our relationships with our families can sometimes feel a little bit like a way-too-competitive game night. With our families, sometimes it's fun . . . but other times, we might fight for first place, gang up on each other, betray each other, and walk away with frustration and hurt feelings. Families can be sources of joy and laughter but also stress and tension. But what if our families could be places where we could all help each other win? In this four-week series from the New Testament, we’ll look at how the earliest followers of Jesus created a new kind of community as God's family. Through their example, we’ll learn that there is enough when we share what we have — and if there isn’t enough, God provides. We'll also learn that our actions can speak when words aren’t enough and that God’s love is always enough.
Red Hill Lutheran’s Middle School Ministry Summer Camp at Forest Home is THE place for your incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade campers to get away from the academic and social pressures and instead focus on their identity in Christ and place in God’s family of believers. During a week of camp running Sunday through Friday, students will discover who God has made them to be through teaching from God’s Word, small group discussions, and high-energy worship.
Of course, no summer camp is complete without the fun! Creative games and interactive team challenges ensure there is never a dull moment at Forest Home. Campers have the freedom to explore many recreation options all week long. With a Blob, zip line, kayaks, Sky Trail, Olympic-sized pool, Gaga pit, archery, laser tag, and lake, there are MANY options! Campers will enjoy living in a community, making new friends, and creating memories that will give them confidence as they navigate the changes and challenges that middle school so often brings.
Registration Is Open and Space is Limited.
Please contact Tim Rivera at trivera@redhillchurch.org if you have any questions.

Pi Day with the Middle Schoolers March 14
Dear all,
Thank you to those who participated in today's pi day festivities, which so appropriately coincided with pizza lunch Thursday!
I wanted to announce a handful of winners from today's event, where our former school record, held since 2019 by Jonathan Selleck, was SMASHED!!!
- Most digits of pi memorized: 7th graders Joshua Ho and Alexa Crain tied for exactly 250 decimal places from memory!!! 7th grader Case Mahoney was not far behind with a modest 210 decimal places! Honestly I am still amazed at their feats!
- Best artistic performance of pi: Congrats to Paige Wilson for her willingness to sing the pi song to all of middle school, where she made it through 196 (or so) decimal places before we had to end lunch. Beautiful job by an incredible mathematician!
- Best pi-themed craft: 6th grader Avery Woo made me an awesome pi-themed box!
Congrats everyone! Aside from your names on the pi-day ring of honor, I'm working on your tangible prizes as we speak.
HUGE thanks to Mrs. Crow and her staff for cutting 8 pies into 96 pieces for us which made the Herculean task of serving pie to most of the middle school in 15 minutes manageable.
Blessings,
Mr. Smith
