Dr. Ken Hays has been a longtime member of Red Hill Lutheran. He has taught geometry at Red Hill Lutheran School for the past few years and has also advised and mentored RHLS middle school students competing in the countywide Science Olympiad. He relates well to students, especially young people who are learning math or science.
 
Dr. Hayes was a founding member of the Physical Sciences University Mentoring program at the University of California, Irvine and has taught, and mentored math and physics students there for over 20 years. He was also honored as the UC-Irvine Physical Sciences 2017 Alumnus of the Year, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
 
Dr. Hays retired from Boeing in April 2017, where his positions had included Chief Scientist of the Anaheim site, Director of Technology Integration for their Air Force Systems businesses, and Senior Technical Fellow.
