Principal's Message
Greetings! It is my privilege to be serving students, parents, faculty, and staff here at Red Hill Lutheran School (RHLS). I invite you to learn more about this amazing place that has provided an academically challenging solid Christian education to thousands of students from the Orange County area since 1961. Red Hill Lutheran School (RHLS) is an outreach ministry of Red Hill Lutheran Church and exists to equip students to positively impact their world for Jesus Christ through a Christ-centered, well-rounded education.
We believe all students learn differently. To meet these different needs, we use a multi-sensory approach in all classes from Preschool through 8th grade. This style of teaching lends itself well to incorporating 21st Century learning skills into all lessons, guiding students to use creativity, higher-level thinking, and problem-solving skills. Technology is used in all classrooms to make learning fun, engaging, and interactive.
RHLS is blessed with a faculty and staff of well-qualified, professional, credentialed Christian teachers, all of whom consider teaching their ministry. Numerous RHLS Teacher's, Administrator’s, and Staff members have been honored as Top Teachers, and leaders in Orange County (more than any other school). In fact, Mr. Matt Smith was recently chosen by the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) as 2024 Teacher of the Year, the first private Christian School Teacher to be honored and recognized in this way.
All lessons are taught from an approved curriculum and are based on California State & Common Core Standards. Lessons are taught from a Christian perspective, integrated with biblical truths and principles, and based on the basic tenets of our Christian - Lutheran faith.
Students receive a well-rounded education through Specialty Classes they attend on a regular basis which include a rich Performing Arts Department consisting of Choral and Instrumental Music - Concert Band, String Orchestra, Drumline, Praise Band, Singspiration Choir; Theater Arts - Drama, Musical Theater, and Spirit Dance Teams; Visual Arts programs, STEM / Engineering, 3-D Printing, Robotics (VEX), Home Economics, Student Leadership, and a multi-level Spanish program.
