3. What is your philosophy regarding discipline?
At RHLS, we encourage
positive behavior demonstrated by students by rewarding them, avoiding
any form of public humiliation. One way we do this is by giving
out what we call “A-OK Awards” where students can be praised
and rewarded by any staff or faculty member on campus. These A-OK
Awards are “raffled” off for extra goodies throughout
the school year. We celebrate good Christian choices by awarding
a Christian Character Award twice per month. At RHLS this award
is the highest possible honor a student can achieve.
4. How is the Bible integrated in each subject matter?
The teachings of the Bible are integrated throughout each and every
subject at Red Hill Lutheran School. Each day begins with prayer
which sets the tone for the rest of our lessons. In language arts,
students are taught that God is the Great Communicator who shares
His Word with us through the Bible. Students are taught the importance
of becoming good communicators, through reading, writing, listening,
and speaking in order to share in the gift of language bestowed
upon us by our Creator. In history, students learn to evaluate
and interpret
events of the past and possible outcomes in the future from a Christian
world-view. The understanding of world events are placed in the
context of a sovereign, infallible God. Science is the study of
God’s
work in all of creation, and students will develop an understanding
and appreciation for it by studying the divine order of creation
and how God has devised a perfect plan in His universe. All students
are taught that Mathematics is the language God used to create His
universe and that an understanding of Math gives us insight into
the nature and character of God. Mathematical concepts are linked
to God’s created world by applying them to real world experiences.
Our specialty classes give students a variety of opportunities
to develop their unique God-given gifts and talents.
5. How many students are enrolled?
In both our Pre-School and K-8
grade campuses combined, approximately 385.
6. What is your hot lunch program?
We use The Great American
Lunchbox.
Orders are paid and mailed directly to this organization by the
families; orders are not accepted at the school. You can place
orders and
payment

years and go to either Catalina Island for Marine Science/Biology
Studies or Washington D.C. for U.S. History Education.

10. How is technology integrated in the classroom?
Whether in our new, state-of-the-art computer lab or in the classroom,
students experience technology-integrated lessons throughout their
day with the award-winning technology program provided by Red Hill
Lutheran School. Each elementary classroom has a digital projector
to which teachers can connect their school-provided laptops to
present exciting, interactive learning experiences. Through an
online subscription to UnitedStreaming, teachers can access thousands
of standards-based educational videos to enhance the curriculum.
Students are instructed at least once per week in our computer
lab by our full-time computer teacher. In the classroom, they have
access to computers connected to a wireless network with Internet
access. In our middle school, student benefit from the SmartBoard
interactive white board which makes learning come to life. We are
committed to delivering the high-quality, high-tech education that
students need to succeed in the 21st century.
11. What are the specialty classes that are offered?

Education, Music, Performing Arts, Computer Sciences, Competitive
Cheer and Spanish. In addition, Middle School students can also
choose from the following electives: Band, Journalism, Spanish,
Teacher’s Aid, Competitive Cheer, Handbells, and Multi-Media

12. What happens when my child is sick?
When a child is not feeling
well, the first course of action is to send them to the school
office to determine if the child has a fever or possible communicable
illness. Parents are called and depending on the nature of the
illness parents may be required to pick their child up from school
immediately. The school office is equipped with a student waiting
lobby and small sick area where students can wait comfortably until
they are picked up.
13. Can I visit the classrooms?
We are a closed, secure campus.
To see our classrooms, we offer tours of the K-8 grade campus conducted
by the Principal by appointment. We also conduct tours of our Pre-School
campus with the Pre-School Academic Coordinator by appointment. Taking
a tour of the school is one of the requirements for registration.
Call the school office to schedule your tour appointment.
14. How secure is your campus?
We are a closed, secure campus. The
entire School campus is enclosed by gates. All visitors must check
in with the school office, including parent volunteers for visitor’s
passes. Church visitors also enter the administration building through
the school office. Our church and school custodians serve as our
security personnel throughout the campus in partnership with our
attentive faculty and staff. Our campus is monitored for Fire and
Security 24 hours a day by a reputable firm. The school campus and
administration offices practice regular fire and disaster evacuation
drills and the entire faculty is well trained in lock-down procedures.
We follow State Disaster Preparedness guidelines and keep emergency
supplies on hand so that we may still continue to care for our students
